Learning Objectives
By the end of this class, you will be able to
• tell the differences between some demonstrative
pronouns “this, these, that, those”.
• express character relationships by using demonstrative
pronouns.
Question 1: How can he tell the differences between
“this, that, these, those”?
(1)This is my father.
(2)That is my uncle.

(4)Those are my aunts.
Question 2: How can he use “this, that, these, those” in sentences?
注意：在回答this或that作主语的疑问句时, 通常可以用人称代
词it代替this或that；在回答these或those作主语的疑问句时, 通
常可以用they代替these或those。
① — Is this a notebook?
— Yes, it is.
② — What’s that?
— It’s a kite.
③ — Are these/those your apples?
— Yes, they are.
who意为“谁；什么人”，是一个疑问代词，用于
询问人的身份。 是who is的缩写形式，用
于对单个人进行询问，回答时常用 。
(who are)用于对两个或两个以上的人进行
询问，回答时常用 。

that’s是that is的缩写形式。当人称代词、指示代词及疑问
