Reading
Teaching aims:
(1) Encourage the Ss to grasp the main idea of the passage --- a brief but clear
introduction to the UN and some general information about the work and
responsibility of a UN Goodwill Ambassador.
(2) Students are expected to learn more about the UN on their own by surfing the
Internet in class.

leading actor Khaled Abol Naga as an Ambassador.

May 2004.
Jackie Chan, world-famous actor and martial arts expert, was appointed as
Goodwill Ambassador for UNICEF and the Joint United Nations Programme on
HIV/AIDS (UNAIDS) during a visit to Cambodia in April 2004.
