教学目标：
Teaching aims:
1. Improve students’ speaking ability by talking about films and film events.
2. Develop students’ interests in English by holding award ceremonies.
3. Encourage students to express themselves by acting out and introducing their designs.
学情分析:
Background:
Because students are poor in spoken English in the country area, the teacher should use
various activities to arouse their interests and try to use simple English to make them understand
what the teacher is saying. When the students are eager to participate in the activities, the
class will be an enjoyable journey for them.
重点难点:
Teaching difficulties:
Get the whole class to be involved in the activities and be able to express their ideas in
English freely.

活动一：lead-in: a video show
T : Today I divide you into 4 groups. Each time when you put up your hands and answer one
question, you can get one point. Let’s get started. First, we are going to enjoy a short video show.
You have to answer these questions after watching it.
Questions: 1. Who is the winner? (Leonardo DiCaprio.)
2. What is the name of the prize? (The Oscars.)
3. What are the fans doing? (They are cheering and applauding.)
活动二：Discussion
T: Discuss with your partners about your favorites and write down your answers on the paper.
1. Who is your favorite movie star? Why?
2. Which movie do you like best? Why?
T: What kind of movie is it?
What kind of movie do you like best?
From your answers we know that there are many kinds of movies in the world. For example:
comedy, action movies, love movies and so on.
活动三：ask and answer questions
I want to hear some suggestions from you. What kind of movie should I choose?
1. What if I’m interested in love and romance? (love film)
2. What if I’m interested in exciting actions? (action movie)
3. What if I’m tired and want to relax? (comedy)
活动四：Watch a Micro Class
T: A lot of Chinese films are world- famous now. When we talk about films we must know
something about Chinese film industry. Today, I invite a host from CCTV9 (In fact it is the teacher
herself.) to give a brief introduction about Chinese film industry. Write down the answers while
watching.
1. When did the first film spear? (In 1896.)
2. What is the name of the first color movie? (New Year’s Sacrifice)
3. Three directors are mentioned. Who are they? (Chen Kaige, Zhang Yimou, Li An.)
活动五：Design an award ceremony and tickets
T: Discuss and design an award ceremony. Before starting it, we should know the steps.
1. setting: an international film festival
2. designer: design a ticket.
How to design a ticket? What kind of information should be included? (name, place…)
3. host: introduce the ceremony briefly
4. actors/ actress: receive an award
5. so on…
Group 1 to 4 choose to be group A,B,C, D.
the task for group A,B : design a ticket and traduce it briefly
the task for group C,D: design a show and act it
总结：
Conclusion :
As students , we should be creative and take action in order to strengthen Chinese film industry
and make it better.
作业：
Homework:
1. Read the passage on P50.
2. Finish the exercises C1,C2,D on P51.
