1.RobertFrost(1874-1963):APoetofDeceptiveSimplicityRobertFrostisoftenconsideredtobeapoetofsimplicity.Peopleenjoyreadinghispoems,becausehispoemslooksimple,directandnatural.Butactually,Frostisalmostneverassimple,directandnaturalasheappearstobe.
Frostsaysthathispoeticdictionhas“droppedtoaneverydaylevelthatevenWordsworthkeptabove”.
NomatterhowpureandsimpleFrost’spoemsmayappearinforms,theirimplicitmeaningsarealmostalwaysintricate.Frostwasdeceptivelysimple.
