Abing was one of the greatest folk musicians in China.
He was born in the city of Wuxi in 1893. His mother died when he was very young. Abing’s
father taught him to play many musical instruments, such as the drums, dizi and erhu. His musical
ability made him famous. However, after his father died, Abing became not only very poor but
also blind. He had to live on the streets and play music to make money. Abing’s music made him
very popular. He wrote Erquan Yingyue and a lot of masters thought it was perfect. Abing died in
