1. 倒装 Inversions
英语句子的自然顺序是主语在前,谓语
在后。把谓语动词放在主语之前, 就叫
倒装结构。如果把句子的谓语全部放
在主语之前, 叫全部倒装（full
inversion)，如果只把句子谓语的一部
分（如助动词或be 动词或情态动词）
放在主语之前就叫部分倒装（partial
Inversion)。
基本语序
natural order
subject 主+ predicate 谓+object 宾
I love English.
predicate + subject
助动词auxiliary/情态动词modal
verb/be动词 + subject + v +…
完全倒装
full inversion
部分倒装
partial inversion
Here came the headmaster.
Nerve will I forgive you.
部分倒装（partial inversion)
• 部分倒装是指将谓语动词的一部分如助动
词(has/have/had will/would…).情态动词
• （can/could/may/might….)或be动词
(am/is/are)提至主语之前。
• 如果句中的谓语动词中没有助动词，be动
词或情态动词，则根据句子时态，单复数
借助助动词do .does 或did并将其置于主语
之前，再把句子的谓语动词还原。
部分倒装
• 1.Only+adv/介词短语/when/after/If等引导
的状语从句位于句首时
a 、 I realized my mistakes only then.
→Only then did I realize my mistakes.
b、We can succeed only by working hard.
→ Only by working hard can we succeed.
C I was able to see him only after he came back.
→ Only after he came back was I able to see
him.
部分倒装
• 注意： 当only修饰主语放句首时，不倒装。
Only you can overcome the difficulty.
Only socialism can save China.

→ Only in this way will you make progress
You will be able to complete the project only if you
follow my advice.
→ Only if you follow my advice will you be able to
complete the project.
2. 当句首状语为否定词或带有否定含义的词语时, 常见
的这类词或词语有 not, never, hardly, seldom,
little ,rarely ,scarcely…以及 not until, no sooner…than
hardly…when, at no time, by no means. in no way ,in
no case ,under no circumstance ,on no account…等
部分倒装
He cared little about his own safety.
→ Little did he care about his own safety.
I never saw newspapers before.
→ Never did I see newspapers before
Never shall I do this again.
At no time can you say “no” to the
order.
Little do I dream I would see you here
Not until the child fell asleep did the mother leave
the room.
Under no circumstance can we give up the plan.
I seldom go to the cinema.
→ Seldom do I go to the cinema.
I didn’t realize how much time I had wasted until
I began to work.
→ Not until I began to work did I realize how
much time I had wasted．
She had no sooner gone out than the class began.
→ No sooner had she gone out than the class began.
当Not only… but also连接两个分
句时，才在第一个分句用倒装结
构。如果置于句首的Not only…
but also仅连接两个并列词语，不
可用倒装结构。

3. 在 so / such that 的结构中, 若
so/such置于句首,则句子部分倒装
So difficult a problem is it that I
can’t work it out.
Such a noble person is he that
people all respect him.
So loudly did he speak that he was heard upstairs.
4. 用于“形容词(或名词、副词、动词)
＋ as” 引导的让步状语从句。
Pretty as she is, she is not clever.
Try as he would, he might fail again.
Money as they had, they don’t know
how to spend it.
Child as he is, he knows a lot.
Hard as Li Ping worked ,he failed the exam.
5.用于省略if 的虚拟条件句
Had you reviewed your lessons, you
might have passed the examination.
由 If you had reviewed your lessons
这样一个虚拟条件分句变过来的。
Were I ten years younger, I would be able to climb
to the top of the hill.
Should a fire break out ,please sound the alarm.
6. 用于 so, nor, neither 开头的句子, 表示
前面叙述的肯定或否定内容也适合于
后者。此句谓语应与前句谓语的时态
形式一致。
He has been to Beijing. So have I.
Jack can not answer the question.
Neither can I.
He has been to Beijing.
So have I
If you won’t go, neither shall I.
