Teaching aims:
By the end of this class, students are expected to:
know the major life experince of Van Gogh and the characteristics of his
paintings;
recognize the author’s attitude based on details provided in the text;
master the method to write a review by including both facts and opinions;
practice listening and reading skills and develop speaking fluency when sharing
ideas;
be involved in certain thinking and discussion about an artist and form their own
ideas toward the person and his works based on certain facts ;
develop certain taste and interest in artistic works.

Important points:
Lead students to find out the key elements (i.e. facts and opinions) while writing
a review;
Elicit the life story and characteristics of Van Gogh’s painting;
