1. On the first day of school, something terrible

了。
(1) 在某天或某天的什么时候，介词要用on。
on Monday在周一；on a cold day在寒冷
的一天
(2) something terrible 可怕的事。
something是不定代词，表示物，其定语
要后置。类似的不定代词还有nothing,
anything, everything。如：nothing
special 没有特别的东西。

(1)happen 发生，指偶然发生，没有预料到。某人
发生了某事，应表达为：
sth. happen ___ sb.
(2)take place表示“发生，举行，举办”，一般指
非偶然性事件的“发生”。

3. come up with想出；提出（主意、答案等）

answer等名词，相当于think of。
