China built 257,000 new 5G base stations in the first half of the year,

Kunlong, China’s homegrown AG600 large amphibious aircraft, conducted its first sea-based test flight on Sunday

The AG600 is China’s second amphibious aircraft, after the SH-5,
which was developed in the 1970s for military purposes and has been
retired for a long time.
These specifications make it the world’s biggest amphibious aircraft,
surpassing Japan’s ShinMaywa US-2 and Russia’s Beriev Be-200.
Once in service, it will put an end to the absence of a large rescue aircraft in China and will be very useful in the
national emergency rescue and disaster relief systems.
Beidou products land abroad
According to Ran Chengqi, director general of China Satellite
Navigation Office, Beidou has been constantly deepening its compatibility,
interoperability and cooperation with the US’ GPS, Russia’s GLONASS
and the EU’s Galileo. It has also entered international organizations of civil
aviation, maritime affairs, search and rescue satellites and mobile
communication.
BDS-based services have been successfully applied in land mapping, precision farming, digital development and
smart port construction in member countries of ASEAN, South Asia, Eastern Europe, West Asia and Africa.

A China’s face-swapping app that allows users to superimpose（叠加）their own likeness over characters in
movies or TV shows has rapidly become one of the country’s most download apps.But it has also triggered concerns
about the issue of privacy.
Released on Friday, the Zao app went viral as Chinese users pursued the chance to act out scenes from well-known
movies. This is done using “deepfake” technology, which has already caused concerns elsewhere over its potential
misuse.
Users provide a series of selfies in which they blink, open their mouths or assume other expressions. The app will
then realistically change the person’s animated likeness onto movies, TV shows or other similar content.
But this has also resulted in privacy concerns as the app’s policy reportedly gave it “free, permanent, transferable,
and re-licenseable” rights to all user-generated content.
Apart from worrying that their personal information can be disclosed, users are also concerned that the app,
through facial recognition technology, can compromise their online payment accounts.
On Sunday, the app issued a statement promising to modify its privacy policy. It also assured users that the app
will not result in any compromise to their payment accounts. The app has since changed its terms to ensure that it will
not use headshots or videos uploaded by users other than to improve the app. It also promised to remove from its
servers any content that was uploaded but subsequently deleted by users.
Zao is owned by Momo Inc, a Tinder-like Chinese dating service that is listed on the Us Nasdaq. The Ministry of
Industry and Information Technology spoke to the developer of the AI face-changing app on Wednesday. The
Ministry’s department of network security said it demanded the company sick to relevant laws regarding the collection
of personal information. Apart from calling on the company to standardize its terms of agreement it also made it clear
that the company should do its utmost to ensure the protection of user data.

Delivery Robots May Soon Be Knocking at Your Door
With self-driving vehicle technology rapidly advancing, many companies are turning to autonomous robots for the
final leg-the so-called last mile-of the delivery process, from the store or local distribution center to the customer. The
latest to join the trend is Amazon. ollowing a successful eight-month test run in Snohomish County, Washington, the
company’s Scout robots have been making the rounds of Irvine, California, since August 6, 2019.
The six-wheeled Scout is about the size of a large cooler with the ability to carry small or medium-sized packages.
The battery-powered vehicle, which moves at a regular walking pace, has been programmed to avoid pedestrians,
animals, and unexpected obstacles（障碍）, such as garbage cans. Its powerful sensors（传感器）can also detect the
movement of a car backing out of a driveway.
While Amazon is focusing on home deliveries, San Francisco-based Starship Technologies has its eyes set on 7
universities. On August 20, 2019, the company announced plans to use thousands of robots to deliver food and other
things to students at college campuses across the country. Unlike Scout, Starship’s robots are seasoned workers. They
have been tested in over 100 cities in 20 different countries and successfully completed over 100, 000 deliveries.
Meanwhile, food and grocery delivery company Postmates’ robots are currently making their rounds along the
busy San Francisco streets. Also in testing, the robots can carry up to 50 pounds and travel 30 miles on a single battery
charge.
Though the eco-friendly robots will help free our streets of bicycles and large delivery trucks that typically send
packages, they have some limitations. They are unable to climb stairs or open gates, which means that they can only
reach consumers who live on the ground level. Additionally,
the robots are unable to leave packages at the front door if the customers are not home. Whether these problems get
solved remains to be seen. For now, it appears that humans will still be needed to meet the ever-growing demand for
home and office deliveries.

I want to thank the Hollywood Foreign Press Association because we all know the press is under siege these days.
We also know it’s the insatiable dedication to uncovering the absolute truth that keeps us from turning a blind eye to
corruption and to injustice. To---to tyrants and victims, and secrets and lies.I want to say that I value the press more
than ever before as we try to navigate these complicated times, which brings me to this: what I know for sure is that

celebrated because of the stories that we tell, and this year we became the story.
But it’s not just a story affecting the entertainment industry. It’s one that transcends any culture, geography, race,
religion, politics, or workplace. So I want tonight to express gratitude to all the women who have endured years of
abuse and assault because they, like my mother, had children to feed and bills to pay and dreams to pursue.
They’re the women whose names we’ll never know. They are domestic workers and farm workers. They are
working in factories and they work in restaurants and they’re in academia, engineering, medicine, and science. They’re
part of the world of tech and politics and business.
They’re our athletes in the Olympics and they’re our soldiers in the military.
And there’s someone else. Recy Taylor, a name I know and I think you should know, too. In
1944. Recy Taylor was a young wife and mother walking home from a church service she’d attended in Abbeville,
Alabama, when she was abducted by six armed white men, raped, and left blindfolded by the side of the road coming
home from church.
They threatened to kill her if she ever told anyone, but her story was reported to the NAACP where a young
worker by the name of Rosa Parks became the lead investigator on her case and together they sought justice. But justice
wasn’t an option in the era of Jim Crow. The men who tried to destroy her were never persecuted.
Recy Taylor died ten days ago, just shy of her 98th birthday. She lived as we all have lived, too many years in a
culture broken by brutally powerful men. For too long, women have not been heard or believed if they dare speak the
truth to the power of those men. But their time is up. Their time is up.
And I just hope--I just hope that Recy Taylor died knowing that her truth, like the truth of so many other women
who were tormented in those years, and even now tormented, goes marching on. It was somewhere in Rosa Parks’ heart
almost 11 years later, when she made the decision to stay seated on that bus in Montgomery, and it’s here with every
woman who chooses to say, “Me too.” And every man--every man who chooses to listen.
In my career, what I’ve always tried my best to do, whether on television or through film, is to say something
about how men and women really behave. To say how we experience shame, how we love and how we rage, how we
fail, how we retreat, persevere and how we overcome.
I’ve interviewed and portrayed people who’ve withstood some of the ugliest things life can throw at you, but the
one quality all of them seem to share is an ability to maintain hope for a brighter morning, even during our darkest
nights.
So I want all the girls watching here, now, to know that a new day is on the horizon! And when that new day
finally dawns, it will be because of a lot of magnificent women, many of whom are right here in this room tonight, and
some pretty phenomenal men, fighting hard to make sure that they become the leaders who take us to the time when
nobody ever has to say “Me too” again.
