（一）
1、take over 接管；接替
The strikers took over the factories.
罢工工人接管了工厂。
2、take part in 参加……，参与……活动
John takes part in many school activities.
约翰参加很多学校里的活动。
3、take place 发生；举行
The threatening strike did not take place after all.
可能来临的罢工终究没有发生。
4、take the place of 代替
It would be difficult to find a man to take the place of the secretary.
找一个代替秘书的人会很难的。
5、take to
1） 喜欢，习惯于……
I soon took to her children.
很快我就喜欢上她的几个孩子了。
2） 开始从事
He gave up medicine and took to literature.
他放弃医学，开始从事文学。
6、take turns 替换, 轮流
Susan and her brother take turns (at) doing the dishes.

7、take up
1） 拿起；抱起
He took up telephone receiver and began to dial.

2） 占去

2.） 归还，退还

10、turn on/off
1） turn on 打开
This tap is stiff; it won’t turn on.

2） turn off 关掉
Turn off the switch when anything goes wrong with the machine.

1、turn over
1）(使)翻转；调转

6、use up 用光

5、on the road
