The world has a plastics problem. And not just with bottles.Straws(吸管),toothbrushes, toys—all kinds of plastics are placed in landfills. There are 5 billion tons of plastic waste in the world. Landfills have a large part of it.By 2050,they could have 13 billion tons.
Much of plastic rubbish finds its way into the ocean.Scientists say 165 million tons of plastic pieces are floating around out there. And most plastic won't disappear itself. It will remain in the ocean forever.Whales get caught in plastic fishing nets.Birds die because of eating plastic straws and bottle caps.It endangers ocean life.Plastic rubbish even ends up in the food we eat.
Governments are realizing that recycling may not be enough. They are taking more actions. Though it is hard work, it is still a solvable problem. In Britain, people are not allowed to use plastic bags except in hospitals. Scotland and several coastal cities in the US stop people from using plastic straws as well. The US alone throws away some 500 million plastic straws a day. That's enough to circle the Earth twice.“Saying no to a plastic straw is an easy way to make a big difference.” Diana Lofflin who started www.strawfree.org said.“Do we really want to pass on to our children a world harmed by plastic?”
People have found some tasty ways to reduce waste.A company in India made the firstever spoon that people can eat.You don't have to eat the spoon. You can throw it away.It decomposes(分解) in just a few days.David Edwards,a scientist at Harvard University, designed an eatable bag which can protect the food or drink inside. It is a delicious replacement for plastic ones.

( C )67.What can we know from the passage?

All over the world, thousands of animals are used for wildlife tourism. People travel to watch
monkey shows, hug baby tigers and swim with dolphins. It might look like fun,but there are reports that animals are hurt now and again. The World Animal Protection(WAP) says that up to 550,000 wild animals are exposed(暴露) to ill treatment around the world; in Cambodia, for example,it's been reported that elephants have died after carrying tourists for long in hot weather. This is getting attention—over 100 travel companies have promised that they will no longer open up such__places. However, some people argue that animal tourism isn't always as bad as it seems. So what do you think?
Group Yes
●Animals weren't put on this planet for enjoyment. They should be free to live as they choose.

Group No
●It is enjoyable and educational for people to communicate with the wonderful animals. The more people know about them, the more they want to protect them.

According to the report, some young whales washed up on the beach near the town of Tonning in Germany. The whales all died of heart trouble. The researchers believe that the young whales, all between 10 and 15 years old, may have entered the North Sea by mistake. The sea floor here is too shallow(浅的) for these deep sea animals.
While that is certainly sad, what is worse is the plastic that the scientists discovered inside the whales' stomachs.Among the manmade trash mistakenly eaten by the young whales was the remains of a 13-meter long and 1.2-meter wide plastic net(网)used for fishing. The scientists also found a big plastic cover from a car and some plastic bottles.
Though the plastic was not responsible for the death of the whales, the discovery is a serious reminder of the harmful result of our throwing plastic trash everywhere.Siebert, a scientist, says, “If the whales had lived, the trash in their stomachs might have caused serious problems. Also, as the whales eat more trash, they seem to be full, so they don't want to eat any more, which results in illnesses.
Whales are not the only animals hurt by the plastic waste in our oceans.Sea turtles also mistake the brightly colored trash for food.As plastic trash is in the animal's stomach, it results in building up gas, and then the turtles can no longer go underwater to look for food. Instead, they just float(浮在水面) and if not saved in time, they'll die of hunger.
According to researchers, in the past six to seven years, the number of sea animals' eating or taking in plastic has greatly increased. The scientists warn that even little plankton(浮游生物), the food for many sea animals, is taking in the trash.
( A )72.What caused the death of the whales in Germany?
A.The shallow beach. B.Plastic trash.
C.The old ages. D.Bad cold.
( C )73.What did the scientists discover in the whales' stomachs?
A.Some small fish. B.Some glasses.

Experts in nutrition(营养) suggest that we should eat at least five different kinds of vegetables and fruit a day. They are very necessary for our health and help our bodies work well. They can help reduce (减少) the risk of getting ill. There are a lot of vegetables and fruit to choose from and they taste delicious.76.__A__
It's easy to buy our food from the local supermarket, so why do we go to the trouble of growing our own? Here are several good reasons:
77.__D__ You can pick and eat it at once. When you have tried it, you will agree that vegetables and fruit that are eaten straight from the garden taste better than anything you can buy in a supermarket.
You may want to cut down on your “food miles” — the distance that a product has travelled before it reaches your kitchen. Many food packages are flown halfway across the earth.78.__C__
Homegrown food is likely to be healthier.Food producers often use fertilizers(化肥) and pesticides(农药) which can end up in your food.If you grow your own, things are different. 79.__F__ You might also choose to grow some traditional vegetables and fruit. These often have more of the vitamins, minerals(矿物质) and protein(蛋白质) that keep you healthy.
80.__E__ And you can grow your own even if you only have a small backyard or a balcony(阳台).Some food can grow well in pots, including lettuce, tomatoes, potatoes and carrots. You can recycle plastic bottles and cups to grow something.Just make sure there are holes for drainage(排水) and a small plate under them to catch drops of water.
